One of the discoveries of the evening was the young Madrid-born conductor Lara Diloy, who, with extensive musical training, found her vocation in orchestral conducting. Diloy skillfully guided both the orchestra and the cast of singers, despite the complexity of the work. With complete dedication to the musicians, she managed to maintain the ensemble\u2019s stability, which bodes well for a promising future in the operatic scene in the coming years.<\/em><\/em><\/p>

It is written in a meticulous, almost pointillist manner, with a fine writing to match the instruments and a range of colours very much in keeping with the vicissitudes of the rogue, from the cheerfulness of the first scenes with the blind man to the more despairing ones at the end. Lara Diloy was able to underline all these nuances with meticulous, millimetric direction, very attentive to the fusion between scene and music. This was made possible, of course, by a group of solid musicians perfectly attuned to each other.<\/em><\/p>

The OSPA was very secure under the baton of Lara Diloy, opting for intelligent and successful conducting, breathing fluidity into the Asturian symphony, adjusting the crescendos well and contrasting the themes appropriately. The Madrid-born conductor, aware of the fragility of the repertoire, knew how to handle the orchestra and to bend to the soloists in each of the numbers.<\/em><\/p>

Always attentive to the singers, he gave the orchestra the verve and sparkle that characterises this work. One could appreciate the delicate nuances in the orchestration of a classically inspired score. Diloy demonstrated at the helm of the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid that confidence which is only the fruit of hard work and talent.<\/em><\/p>

The young Lara Diloy led Penella\u2019s string orchestra for this score, making the Valencian musician\u2019s notes ring out from the very orchestral prelude with all their charm and evanescence, as the different sections shone smoothly with deep, deep bass strings. <\/em><\/p>
