Her baton has been placed at the helm of orchestras such as the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta de Radio Televisi\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola and the Filarm\u00f3nica de Gran Canaria, with her return to the Orquesta de C\u00f3rdoba and her debut in the programme of the Maestranza in Seville, among other engagements, awaiting her in the coming weeks. All this makes Lara Diloy one of the strongest realities of the present of orchestral conducting in our country. And not only for that, but also for her vision of teamwork, energy, flexibility and balance in front of the music stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I understand that you had your sights set on architecture, but that you ended up pursuing music in your life?\u00a0

<\/strong>Actually, architecture was one of those dreams you have when you are young. Although I really liked the scientific side of it, what really attracted me to architecture was that it allowed you to combine it with something more artistic. That symbiosis of the two things always attracted me, but in the end, at the precipice of the question: music or architecture, I always said that I would feel as if they were taking away a part of me if I had to give up music, something that didn’t happen with architecture! (laughs) That’s when it became clear which path I would choose, the one that forged my passion.

And yet, within music, his career has developed towards the architecture of music: orchestral conducting.

<\/strong>Yes, perhaps from the creative prism of construction I would associate the architect more with the composer, since the latter creates with almost total freedom. In direction we talk about interpretation and the limits, obviously, are set by the score. However, architecture is one of the fundamental parts of our work. To see how to construct, from that score, the music: the paths that lead us to tension, to distension, culminating points\u2026 how to erect it all. I hadn’t thought about it before, but yes, I guess it’s related to everything I’m living today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
