Lara Diloy Conducts “The Duel: Mozart vs. Salieri” at the LittleÓpera Zamora Festival

Conductor Lara Diloy was in charge of leading the show “The Duel: Mozart vs. Salieri” at the Teatro Principal in Zamora, one of the main highlights of the tenth edition of the LittleÓpera Festival. At the helm of the Orquesta Vigo 430, Diloy “was very active and diligent, expressive and cordial,” noted Arturo Reverter in his review.

With stage direction by Rita Cosentino, the production pitted two one-act operas against each other: The Impresario by W. Amadeus Mozart and Prima la musica e poi le parole by Antonio Salieri. The format invited the audience to become the jury of this “duel,” where music was the main weapon and the final verdict was left in the hands of the attending public.

In a prior interview, Diloy stressed the importance of initiatives like Little Ópera to bring the operatic genre to all audiences, highlighting the quality and freshness of the Zamora-based festival’s offerings. Lara Diloy’s participation in this innovative project reinforces her position as a versatile conductor committed to formats that connect opera with new audiences.
