The prestigious cultural supplement La Lectura (El Mundo) features an extensive report on conductor Lara Diloy. In this in-depth interview, titled “In balance lies the answer,” Diloy reflects on her career, her artistic vision, and the responsibility of leading major orchestras, consolidating her position as a leading figure in contemporary orchestral conducting.

Following her recent appearances on major national stages, Lara Diloy has successfully taken on the musical direction of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata at the Auditorio Municipal Maestro Padilla in Almería. The performance, held on December 6th, was supported by Cajamar, the Almería City Council, and the Indaliana Foundation for Music and the Arts (Clasijazz).

Conductor Lara Diloy was in charge of leading the show “The Duel: Mozart vs. Salieri” at the Teatro Principal in Zamora, one of the main highlights of the tenth edition of the LittleÓpera Festival. At the helm of the Orquesta Vigo 430, Diloy “was very active and diligent, expressive and cordial”.

Conductor Lara Diloy has made her debut leading the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra (OFM) at the 37th Special Summer Concert. Titled “Tchaikovsky’s Universe,” the concert took place last Friday, July 25th, in the exceptional setting of the gardens of the Official College of Technical Architecture of Málaga. For her first collaboration with the Málaga-based orchestra, Diloy prepared a program entirely dedicated to the work of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Madrid-based conductor Lara Diloy returns to the pit of the Teatro de la Zarzuela to conduct two gems of the Spanish lyric repertoire: Federico Chueca’s El bateo and Ruperto Chapí’s La revoltosa. On this occasion, Lara Diloy shares musical direction with Óliver Díaz, in a new stage production directed by Juan Echanove.

The concert Leonora y los sesenta granos de café, conducted by Lara Diloy and narrated by Belén Otxotorena, creator of this musical tale, will be presented to schools during this academic year in Badajoz, Cáceres and Mérida, in March and April, together with the Orquesta de Extremadura.

The film, produced by Break Thru Films, will be accompanied by a live performance of the chamber version of Prokofiev’s score of the same name by eleven musicians from the Orquesta Titular del Teatro Real under the musical direction of Lara Diloy.

Lara Diloy leads the Joven Camerata de la ORCAM and the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (JORCAM) in a series of festive concerts at the Real Teatro de Retiro.

Her baton has been placed at the helm of orchestras such as the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española and the Filarmónica de Gran Canaria. All this makes Lara Diloy one of the strongest realities of the present of orchestral conducting in our country. And not only for that, but also for her vision of teamwork, energy, flexibility and balance in front of the music stands.

Lara Diloy fits perfectly into the letter and spirit of Proyecto Zarza, which seeks – and is succeeding – in rejuvenating a genre, zarzuela, about which there is much prejudice and ignorance, especially among the young.
