Lazarillo

(…) under the sure and sensitive direction of Lara Diloy, they have performed a clean and punctual work, at times a real lacework (…) We witnessed an excellent performance marvellously served by Diloy’s baton.

Arturo Reverter. Lazarillo at the Teatro Corral de Comedias in Alcalá de Henares.

It is written in a meticulous, almost pointillist manner, with a fine writing to match the instruments and a range of colours very much in keeping with the vicissitudes of the rogue, from the cheerfulness of the first scenes with the blind man to the more despairing ones at the end. Lara Diloy was able to underline all these nuances with meticulous, millimetric direction, very attentive to the fusion between scene and music. This was made possible, of course, by a group of solid musicians perfectly attuned to each other.

(…) there is no loss of grace or elegance, and the transparency and extraordinary lightness of the score is underlined. This is how Lara Diloy understood it on the podium, with a fine, lively and nervous reading.

Lyric Gala – 75th Anniversary of the Oviedo Opera House

The OSPA was very secure under the baton of Lara Diloy, opting for intelligent and successful conducting, breathing fluidity into the Asturian symphony, adjusting the crescendos well and contrasting the themes appropriately. The Madrid-born conductor, aware of the fragility of the repertoire, knew how to handle the orchestra and to bend to the soloists in each of the numbers.

Don Gil de Alcalá – Teatro de la Zarzuela

Always attentive to the singers, he gave the orchestra the verve and sparkle that characterises this work. One could appreciate the delicate nuances in the orchestration of a classically inspired score. Diloy demonstrated at the helm of the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid that confidence which is only the fruit of hard work and talent.

Paloma Sanz. Don Gil de Alcalá at the Teatro de la Zarzuela.

The young Lara Diloy led Penella’s string orchestra for this score, making the Valencian musician’s notes ring out from the very orchestral prelude with all their charm and evanescence, as the different sections shone smoothly with deep, deep bass strings.
